The SLSC began in 2020 with a small group of school leaders who decided this type of work was necessary for the city of St. Louis, thus inviting all executives from public schools in the city.

No, the SLSC has no legal standing or decision-making authority. We are a group of school leaders choosing to work together to address pernicious challenges in the education system.

Skip Designed helps facilitate monthly meetings. There are committees that make decisions for different aspects of the collaborative such as the planning committee, communications committee, etc.
The meetings are not public and there is no future plan for them to become public. -
The SLSC has not received any funding for its work.

The SLSC is a group comprised of school operators, by school operators, and for school operators. The Board of Education of the City of St. Louis, charter school sponsors, and the mayor’s office are periodically updated on the group’s progress.

The St. Louis School Leaders Collaborative works with the STL School Research-Practice Collaborative to utilize and drive research. Educators engage with local university researchers to understand and analyze issues that benefit from data-informed perspectives to enhance the development of robust solutions in schools.
